When God Paints a Picture

After a long day at work yesterday, following an exceptionally long week, I couldn't wait to get home. Driving home hoping not to hit too much traffic, I looked up and saw this:

Needless to say, suddenly getting home quickly became less important. I had to sto somewhere and take some pictures. Finding a place to take clear shots of the sky in the middle of the city here though, is not easy. And the sun was setting quickly, I knew I didn't have much time.

Just a few seconds later, and we were reduced to this:

I got back in my car, and started heading home. While at a red light, I looked to my left and took one last shot out the car window:

God was painting last night. I think he created another masterpiece.

Wonderful sunset shots. Don't those colors just take your breath away? I think it's an entirely different experience to see it in person. But those are great shots!

It is harder to take sky shots in the city. I often have to be high up to take the shots.

WOW. I have seen pretty sunsets but I don't think I've ever been able to photograph them adequately. You did a great job.

Beautiful shots! And lovely commentary too. I sympathize about trying to catch the sunset once you see it, it disappears so quick.

Lissa, thanks. Yeah, the colors really did take my breath away, they were just amazing.

Lil Mouse, yeah, masterpieces.

Junebug, thanks.

Lostcheerio, thank you, I was happy they came out well as they did.

Sognatrice, thanks, I don't think I would have forgotten myself if I didn't stop to take those shots.

Debs, thanks

QDB, you are welcome, and you are right, sometimes, you just have to listen to what the universe (and God) is telling you.

Lisa, yes, it was mere seconds from when I decided to find a spot to stop, and when the sunset was all over with.
