This week's FunMonday is being hosted by the lovely and wonderful Lisa. And it's an easy one too:
What is one thing you would like to ask your readers? Come up with a question to pose to your visitors and throw it out there on Monday. As we’re all visiting each other’s Fun Monday posts we should answer the various questions we come across.
Easy right? So, here's my question to all of you: What is one book you have read that you would recommend everyone read? And why?
And since I can never follow rules, and I'm looking for help before I go drop 100's of dollars on a new phone, I'm doing a Part B to my question. I plan on getting a new phone soon, and am looking into either a Blackberry or some sort of Palm...anyone who has one of these types of phones, what should I get if I plan on attempting to mobile blog?
Happy Monday everyone, I'll be doing my rounds when I get home from work tonight.

The Book Thief is an excellent book.
I would not get a Blackberry Pearl to mobile blog on - I can't speak about the others. I have a Pearl and mobile blogging on it is VERY tedious.
one book only, huh? okay how about either "the handmaid's tale" or "the red tent" both good ones.
i have a 5 year old phone that still works well enough so i dont know about the fancy phones. i dont really need a fancy phone.
A book that everyone should read? Hmm. How about 'Hop on Pop' by Dr. Seuss? It's got one of my fave lines ever:
'HOP POP We like to hop.
We like to hop on top of Pop.
STOP You must not hop on Pop.'
As for mobile blogging...I like to write with a pen in my notebook...
I was going to say 'The Book Thief' simply because I've just read it but Beckie has said that one so how about
"the Boy in the striped Pyjamas" John Boyne.
Sorry I can't help on the phone.
I would say this other book, but for the life of me I can't remember the title right now so instead I'll say "The 5 People You Meet in Heaven" it's a short book that gives you a lot to think about.
Happy Monday! :)
Soul Catcher. It's beautifully written, against type, and reminds you that life is both beautiful and horrifying.
The Road by Cormac McCarthy. It strips it all down to survival and what is really important in life.
I would whole heartedly recommend the book 'The Marvelous Journey of Edward Toulane'. A truly wonderful tale. It was the first time in a long time that a story captured me and held me throughout the whole talke. A simple story, and basically shaped like a fairy tale, but, it's the way it was told.
I wouldn't have any idea which one. I think I would end up going on line and looking over reviews of the phones and see what people say.
Although I can think of a BUNCH of books that I dearly loved to read...one that has stuck with me, teaching me lessons about myself and things I need to know for my daughters is: "The Hidden Value of a Man" by Gary Smalley. It explains so much about a father-daughter relationship, which I may and may not have experienced growing up (which explains so much about why I am who I am) - and about what my husbands can give our girls that I cannot. It's a unique relationship, between fathers and daughters - and it really opened my eyes to the necessity and the VALUE of that relationship.
Sorry... long answer.
Anything Jane Austen. Can't believe how easy these books are to read and how memorable the characters are. Especially loved Persuasion for the bittersweet tale of love lost and found.
I had a Blackberry when I worked and it was a lot of fun as well as convenient for business. Total dud with all other phone options.
I love any Koontz book, but I think my favorite one is still Intensity, or the whole 'Odd' series.
I have a Blackberry Pearl, for the last few weeks, but I haven't tried blogging on it. Hubby bought the HTC Touch and it's windows based so I would think it would be pretty easy to blog on. It is similar to my Palm, and you can get a keyboard for it but he just uses the one that pops up on the touch screen.
My favorite book? One I'd recommend? For me it's actually a childrens book called "Love You Forever" Uhm can't remember the author at the moment though. The main line in the book. "I'll love you forever, I'll like you for always. As long as I'm living my baby you'll be". I used to read it to my kids all the time when they were little and they could probably recite it themselves.
First Things First by Stephen Covey. Why? What good is it to put your effort into climbing the ladder only to find you've leaned it up against the wrong wall. Fantastic book!
I have a Palm Treo 650. It's downfall is not much memory... I think that was better in the 700. I love it, great for getting online and blogging with.
my all time favorite book is The Red Tent by anita diamonte..a must read for all woman!! I think I will have to check out the book thief next!!
the bible...why? obviously i answer this as a christian & the bottom line for me is that everything i have ever needed in terms of a book has been there for me.
Sorry I'm so late. Erm, I've really enjoyed The Golden Compass, The Subtle Knife and The Amber Spy Glass, all in Philip Pullman's His Dark Materials Trilogy. Fabulous.
