For today's Fun Monday, continuing in the spirit of "being interested in people", I would like to know, or see, what's on, in or under your bedside table! So open those draws and bare your soul to us! Is there anything special there that has a story or a memory that you can tell us about? Books that you keep there to delve into from time to time? Trinkets that you don't know where else to put? Let's see!
Well, this is my bedside table:
I can't, (or won't) show you what's in my drawers though, because then I'd be showing you my drawers. (UH, that's undergarments to you). So, we'll leave that up to your imagination, and we'll keep the drawers closed.
I will instead zoom in on my favorite piece that sits on my bedside table:
This little trinket was given to me by a friend quite a long time ago, and has special meaning to me. It has the following inscribed on it's base:
In case you can't read it, it says: "Palm of My Hand - See! I will not forget you. I have carved you on the plam of my hand".
But, in keeping with the whole "bare your soul" directive, I figured I should give you something more...so, here's what sits on the other side of my bed...my jewelery stand:
That creepy looking thing on the stand is a melted down candle.
Yes, I have a bit of a jewelry addiction too...it's not just shoes.
Please visit Angela for the list of other Fun Mondayers, and be sure to stop by Tiggerlane's tomorrow (or anytime this week), as she's hosting on the Monday after the Superbolw.

Well, I feel better about not seeing your undies since you showed me your jewelry. :)
*open-mouthed in awe* that just about beats hands down any jewelley box I have EVER seen! Way to go!
Dang, you have a lot of jewelry. I am just a dullster - I have something like six pair of earrings, some rings and, uh, two necklaces.
My gram had a jewelry stand like that. It's migrated over to my mom's room. And my mom gave me her old jewelry box that my dad had given her. It's a nice passing down of treasured things.
Love that sweet figurine, carved in the palm of your friend's hand. And your leopard skin accessories - rowr!
That is a beautiful candle holder! I just love the amber color.
I like your lamp!
I have a ton of jewelry too but unfortunately I do not have an awesome place to stash it like you do.
candid karina wont show her undies? tsk tsk!
My mother can rival your jewelry addiction. I have quite a bit myself, but rarely wear any of it. That doesn't stop my Mom or hubby from buying and buying and buying me more. Got to love 'em.
Love your jewelry stand! What a great idea for your drawers! I need more drawer space for clothes now I think I might rearrange and throw my books on a shelf and some socks & undies in my drawers!
Karina...I have that same statue!!!
Lisa, glad I could make up for it! ;-)
Angela, thanks, though I should say that about 98% of that jewelry is costume stuff...different levels of it, some really cheap, other better quality, but only about 2% of my jewelry is worth anything at all.
Beckie, see above...but I do love my jewelry. I'm known for always having something different on.
Julia, this jewelery stand is one of my favorite pieces of furniture...I love it. And yet...it's full to the brim, I need more space. haha
Sandy, thanks, it was a gift, I love it too.
Sauntering Soul, thank you. I love my lamp too, but it has seen better days, it's quite wobbly and crying to be retired, to be honest.
LilMouse, I know, I know...how unbrittney of me!
Robinella, my mom also rivals my jewelry addiction. And my dad has this thing for buying her bracelets for EVERY gift giving occasion there is...she has over 40 really nice ones.
Eclectic, in addition to those two drawers, I also have a "sock" drawer elsewhere in the room...yeah, I really shop too much! ;-)
Love the jewlery chest!! and the leopard lamp!!
I love the jewelry box, I have a "slight" addiction, too! Thanks for sharing!
He,he, you showed us your drawers. I love the little statue, quote and all.
My jewelry is stashed in a drawer...i need something pretty to put it in!
I've always see those jewlery boxes, but I always have the same thought... can anyone have THAT MUCH jewelery? Thanks for leaving some things to the imagination though!
What a beautiful inscription.
That is the most beautiful jewelery stand I've ever seen. I love it can you feel the envy~ actually I don't think I would have enough to fill it!
Jettie, thanks. My leopard lamp was a rave success, I should give it more credit than I do! ;-)
Carrie Sue, I'm finding that I'm not alone in my "slight" jewelry addiction...haha
mjd, I did NOT show you my drawers...did I? Damn, did I forget to close my legs getting out of the car again? Sheesh! ;-)
Southern Doll, if my jewelry was stashed in a drawer, I'd spend HOURS every morning trying to find just the right piece!
Linda...yep, someone can...that someone would be me! ;-)
Chris B, thanks! The trick is to buy a jewelry stand for the amount of jewelry you'd LIKE to have...then once you own it, you HAVE to fill it! haha
Oh well we saw your drawers at least... and all that jewelry too.
