Some more monkeying around

My Wordless Wednesday last week raised some questions about the monkey in the shot, and since that happens to be one of my favorite pictures ever, I thought I'd elaborate on it.

First of all, here's the picture again:

I LOVE THIS GUY!!

Now, to answer some of the questions:

I have no idea what kind of monkey this is...there were monkeys all over the resort where we stayed, but I didn't ask what kind they were...sorry.

The picture was taken at a resort in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico, during a family vacation I took with my parents, my brother and some other family friends last year. This resort was really cool and had a "jungle" in the middle of it with all sort of fun animals roaming the grounds freely.

I did not take this particular photo, my dad did, but it is probably my favorite photo from that vacation, followed closely by the beach shot on my masthead up there (which I did take myself).

Here are some more monkey (and other animal) shots taken that week...Enjoy!

How'd you get all those critters to sit still for so long? :P
I like the monkey.
Happy WW!

Comedy+ it was a beautiful place! I could have moved there.

Julia, I loved the flamingos...they're such cool animals to watch!

Frigga, the animals were EVERYWHERE, so there were always opportunities to get them in pictures...it was so weird. One morning, while we're having breakfast in the dining area (which was an indoor/outdoor type place) a monkey ran right between all the tables!
