In the spirit of Wordless Wednesday, I didn't want to post an explanation in the actual entry, but I had to share that this is a painting my mother bought for me when I was just a baby, because she thought it looked like me. I've had it for three decades now, and only recently found a frame and put it up on the wall. I love this painting.

It is beautiful. Those "puppy dog" eyes are so sweet.

You might want to get it appraised. I'm sure it's an antique. Who is the artist?

Thank you for sharing....

Peace to you on "Peace Globe Day" 2007!

It reminds me of the big-eyed dolls that were popular in the late-60's, early 70's. I love that you've had it all this time and just got it framed. I can relate!

How lovely for your mother to do that. Great that you're displaying it.

My little pony, frigga, patois, melanie and christinator, yeah, the story behind the picture, the fact that mom got it for me when I was just a baby, is what makes it one of my favorites.

Julia, it had been rolled up in parchment paper or something all this time, and when I moved to my own place four years ago, I swore I'd put it up, and jsut did so about 6 months ago...lol

Dawnea, I'd like to think I was that cute! haha...I think it's the big eyes that got mom, I always had these big eyes...

Jennie, I've never thought about getting it appraised, but that's a good idea...I should look into it. I'm not sure who the author is, I'll have to look at it and see if I can decipher his name.

Thanks to everyone for stopping by!
