Fun Monday - Me to a T

This week's Fun Monday is being hosted by Willow Tree of "A Dingo's Got my Barbie, he wants to see some clothing art. That's tee shirts, baseball caps, hoodies, sports uniforms or any bit of clothing that you or your kids own that has interesting, funny or artistic graphics.

I went with my t-shirts for this one. I do own a few baseball caps, and some great hooded sweatshirts, but by the time I got done photographing the t-shirts, I decided I had enough here.

So, we'll start with one of my favorites. I love James Dean. I've always loved James Dean, since the day sometime in high school when I watched Rebel Without a Cause. Yeah, yeah, I know, typical teen girl movie start crush. Still, I love James Dean. So, when I saw this t-shirt I just had to have it.

These are my "school" shirts. I've had the two Lowell shirts since high school. I don't wear the "peer leader" one at all, but can't seem to be able to part with it. I was a peer leader in high school, and have some great memories from that time. The shirt has that sentimental value things often do. The other is a tank, and I only wear it to work out in, but I do love it, I mean, after all, it's Mickey! The Suffolk shirt I wear maybe once a year, if that, but it's one of the few things I own with my university logo, so again, I can't get rid of it.

This next one is another of my favorite finds. Loving shoes as much as I do, I think it pretty much speaks for itself.

This next batch are my "I still think I'm a young girl" t-shirts. I don't really wear these all that often either. In fact, I can't remember the last time I wore any of them...but hey, I still own them, so:
The next batch are my "ironic" tees. See, I like to think of myself, at least when it comes to clothes, as having a trendy, sophisticated style. Even in my casual wear, I tend to put outfits together with thought, accessorizing and classing up even a t-shirt and jeans. And yet, now and again, I like to go shake things up a bit and be silly. I collect all things Betty Boop, so this is only one of the many Boop t-shirts I own. The Grease shirt I bought at the Broadway show I went to in July, and the My Little Pony shirt? Well, it's My Little Pony, that's why! I searched high and low for my Care Bears shirt, but I couldn't find it, so you'll just have to imagine that one.

This next one is just a fun artsy/bohemian shirt.

Another "sentimental value" type shirt, is my Big Brothers Big Sisters shirt. I never wear it, it's HUGE, but I don't see myself ever getting rid of it.

And finally, like any true Bostonian, the sports shirts. The Red Sox, the Patriots...you're not a true Bostonian if you don't own AT LEAST one of each...I have a few more than just these, but these are my faves. (And two of them are wrinkly because I had to dig them out of my hamper to photograph them, after all, it's playoff season in baseball and the Pats? Well, they're just kicking ass this year, now aren't they?)

And there you have it, some of my tee shirt art! Thanks for hosting WT! Be sure to go visit him for the list of other participants. And for next week's assignment, be sure to visit...ME! That's right, I'm not really sure why I did it, but it appears I've volunteered to host next week. GULP. Such responsibility, such commitment...have I mentioned I have commitment issues?

I volunteered because I had an idea, but now I've got a few floating around...the thing is, I've only been doing Fun Monday for 18 weeks, and you've all been doing it for 38...so, what happens if I pick a topic that's already been covered? Is there a list somewhere? Any help from the veterans would be great. Otherwise, I'll just pick something and go for it.

Anyway, come back tomorrow for your assignment, I'll have it figured out by then. Really, I will!

I like your bohemian shirt - and I would sleep in the big brothers shirt!

I'm a relative newcomer to Fun Monday too (in fact, I think you've been here longer than I have) and I've already hosted, so don't worry about it. Just pick something and we'll do whatever you say (believe me, not many people hear that out of my mouth!).

and don't worry about fun monday repeats--it won't be a repeat for me, anyway!

Oh oh.....don't shoot!!! Don't shoot!!! MY colorful, graphic Tee shirt and ball caps is NOT for someone who lives in Boston....or, for that matter, anyone who is FROM Boston.

Don't play this against me. But, we'll just see how well Curt Schilling pitches!!![I not only LOVE the Rockies, but Curt was one of the star pitchers for my AZ D'Backs at one time. rofl]

I'll be back tomorrow to see our assignment.

Check the topics out at my blog by clicking my side bar tag Fun Monday -- and scroll thru them. I've only missed a few

Not too long ago I went through my T-shirt drawer and threw away all the ones that were beyond repair or just too small - so I didn't have a great bunch like you have. Very entertaining.

That's the main reason I haven't volunteered to host. I have no idea what's already been done! Oh the guilt of it all!

I like how you put all your shirts in catagories, it gives me insight as to how your mind works! :)

T-shirts for all occasions you have a great collection.

I don't think there is a list of past FM but if you emailed your ideas any one of us who have been doing it from the beginning we would let you know if it's been covered before.

I like you "heels" t-shirt the best! I still have some of my t-shirts from college - I was an orientation leader (for freshman), and I just can't let go of those logo shirts, either!

Me likey that James Dean tee, and even though I'm not a huge fan, I could've seen myself getting one of these. Target rocks!

Your "Hell on (W)heels" tee would've been fun to include on the "Footwear" Fun Monday I hosted a while back, lol. More than a few of the bloggers could totally relate.

I have an entire listing of Fun Monday themes (and guidelines) listed in my sidebar under "Pages"...it's kinda hard to miss ;).

Can't wait to see what you come up with...I'm sure I'm in no matter what!

The word is, you are hosting the next Fun Monday. I would like to sign up if you will allow me to 'bend the rules' just a little.
I'm on the road again, and may not have WiFi. If I do, I promise to try to post what you assign.

You have shown us a quite a collection of shirts. Hell on Heels is funny. Interesting that you in your 30's and are a James Dean fan.

Selecting something for Fun Monday should not be a problem. Even if you picked something that has been done, many of the participants are relatively new. Or you could consult with WT; he has been doing this for a while.

Ok, I'm giving this one an A double plus with reverse pike.

Sorry, I didn't see the last paragraphs. For starters, if you're the host, you make the rules! So you can pick anything you like, if it's already been done that's ok, it'll give people a chance to get it right this time!!!

That's a good idea about a list though, I'll look into that.

If you click on Fun Monday in my category list, you should get a few of the past assignments, but don't worry about it, if it's already been done it was over 18 weeks ago anyway!

Wow! What a selection. Great shirts!!

Wow, you sure have a lot of t-shirts. I liked the idea I read on someone else's Fun Monday about making an old t-shirt into a cushion cover to be enjoyed by not worn. A wonderful array of colourful shirts.
